Quick Craft

I got this idea from my sister Rachel and will be teaching a class for my ward's Super Saturday.  Most of you have probably already seen this, but if not here it is:

Super easy and cute. All you do is print out the word faith in big letters with the words is like a little seed in smaller letters underneath.  Print it out on card stock so holds up better. Next use craft glue to glue little seeds on the word faith. A toothpick works wonders for spreading the glue and making the seed go where they need to go. Just sprinkle the seeds like glitter and fix them with the toothpick. Put it in a frame and you are good to go. Oh also I got the seeds in the bins at Winco.  I used celery seed, poppy seed, dill seed, and whatever else I could find that was little and looked like a seed.

Last weekend it was 93 degrees. This week it is in the low 70's. We took a trip to a near by lake to get some last minute ray's before the cold weather decides to stay. The kids had a blast, well Monte and I did to. This lake had a great beach, playground, sand volleyball, hiking trails, and an outdoor shower to rinse off all the sand.  Monte enjoyed playing in the water with the kids and I enjoyed watching and laying in the sun.

 The kids enjoyed walking along the beach and throwing rocks, but with Monte around that didn't last long. He gave all the kids an opportunity to be thrown in the water!

 We packed a picnic lunch. I think Logan ate more than anyone else. That kid can eat!

Campaign Manager

There are many hats I knew I would wear when I decided to be a mother. I knew I would be a nurturer, cook, housekeeper, teacher, taxi driver, nurse, and a mired of other things. But to this day I never considered campaign manager as one of them. Logan I mean Max has decided to run for Vice President of his grade school. I know a shocker to us all, but this kid is really coming out of his shell. His teacher told me he is a friend to everyone and he won the class elections. So, here we are Max running for office and me the amazing campaign manager.

The first item of business was to make 5 posters to hang in the halls of school for the next week.  Now being the amazing campaign manager that I am, I immediately asked the treasurer of our campaign aka Monte if I could have a budget of $300. You see I've always wanted a cricket or a silhouette or any of those fun kind of machines and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to acquire one. I was immediately shot down. For some kind of reason the treasurer did not think it was worth running a $300 campaign for a child in grade school whom nobody really even knows yet because he's the new kid. Ahh the injustice of working within the government.

Well a good campaign manager always picks themselves up when the chips are down so we created 5 posters on a budget of $0. They turned out great, and the candidate was super excited. So next up on the campaign trail is writing the speech, which will be delivered in front of the whole school. I'm pretty sure speech writer falls under the tittle of campaign manager. So, here's to wearing new hats, and taking them for a ride!

Front Door Wreath

I made a wreath for my front door yesterday. I wanted to try a burlap wreath so I googled burlap wreath tutorials, got fabulous ideas and then put them all together.

 Uggh why was I not thinking about my white front door? Note to self make dark colored wreaths for white front door. If I wasn't renting I would have already painted my front door black. I love black front doors.

See how much better it looks on a dark background. Anyway lesson learned. All I did was wrap a foam wreath with burlap that was cut 2.5 inches wide. I hot glued it every once in a while.  Then I took 4 inch wide burlap and laid it on top while gluing folds in it every couple of inches. I saw some ruffled wreath tutorials but I like my way better and it was easier for me.

These flowers were my favorite part. I thought they were so cute. I got the turtorial from here: wreath.  Over all I enjoyed making the wreath and it was pretty cheap since I already had some of the stuff. So go make a fall wreath for yourself and send me a picture. I want so more fun ideas.

30 Day Mom Challenge

I was getting things ready for FHE tonight and came across this: 30 Day Mom Challenge iMOM . I am excited to give this challenge a try. It looks super easy. It's going to be a great reminder of all the little things I need to be doing for my children. Also Monte is out of town most this month so I have all my energy to focus on my kids.

The Best Suprise of My Life!!!

Anyone who has talked to me lately knows how much I have been dreading the starting of school.  My baby is entering first grade. And besides my baby going to first grade we just moved, my husband is still working his old job, and I don't know anybody yet. Hello ummm yes Lonely that's me. I have dreaded the first day of sending the kids off on the bus and coming home to an empty house. I have always thought first grade hurts so much more than kindergarten, and it's my baby. They leave you and don't come back all day.

Yesterday was the first day of school so like a good mom I got up early to make pancakes. You can't start the first day of school on cold cereal that's reserved for the third day when getting up early isn't as fun.  I woke the kids up and then headed down stairs to start on the pancakes. As I walked into the kitchen/great room it was dark, but someone was on the couch. "Logan, how did you get down here?"  And then the head turned and I saw it was my amazing husband!!!! I was flabbergasted. Through the tears I blubbered, "how did you get here, are you really here?"  Monte had driven all through the night to see the kids off on their first day of school. What a surprise, definitely the best of my life.  All the sudden the day looked fabulous, not lonely at all. Hurry kids we got to get you on that bus!!!

My kids were so excited to see their dad! It was just the boost they needed to start a new school.

 Abbie is starting 7th grade. She is getting old way to fast. When did she get so grown up?

Logan the ever cool dude is starting 4th grade and going by the name Max at school.  When we went to meet his teacher we found out their was another Logan in the class, but this Logan was a girl.  Logan was mortified and told the teacher he wanted to go by the name Max. His teacher said great and had all his name tags switched to Max for the start of school.

My little buddy Weston is starting the first grade, and way excited to eat lunch at school.

I have to say I think I am the luckiest mom in the whole world. I have been blessed with the most amazing children. I wouldn't change one thing about them. I love my family!

My sweet sister Rachel has requested some picture about what the area looks like, and where we live so here ya go Rach:

 I took this standing on my front porch. We live off a dirt road and are the only people on this street.

 This  was taken looking out my kitchen window. The pictures not that great because it was taken through a window put you get the idea. We pretty much live in the middle of a forest.

 This is our backyard. We do have neighbors! There are 3 townhouses on the street behind us and one town house on the street perpendicular to our street. I laughed with Monte and my parents because houses are just randomly thrown in every which way and then a gravel road is made to go to the house. Lets just say Brigham Young did not plan this area of the world.

I took this standing in our church parking lot. I just think it is so beautiful.  Most of the area looks like this. Gently rolling hills, farm land, open fields, and then ponderosa pines everywhere else. Although we live out a way it takes only five minutes to get downtown, and I have three different highways to choose from. I'm so glad we live out a bit and not in the heart of the city. This is way more my style. I feel like I'm living at the cabin, and what could be better than that? Nothing.
